I hit the used stores Saturday, and this is what I came out with. Already I want a bigger book rest, that thing is damn useful… The Great Japan Exhibition is full of  great stuff, I feel inspiration jumping at my back every time I open it.  Neat.

Went outside to catch some lovely vitamin D, and what do I spot? The plant by my feet is casting excellent shadows. No way can I let this opportunity slip, so I got me some paper and here’s the result.

Their hats cast excellent shadows.

The dutch, they opened their act with Enter Sandman.

I love, love, love bagpipes ♥ These pipers came over from Copenhagen. They may not be the largest band around, but that’s still the largest amount of bag pipes I’ve seen live.

Easily the biggets band there, a fire brigade band from Germany (if I remember correctly).

…and then my camera ran out of battery:( I missed out on the closing act with all the performers in the hall. *sniffles* Also the photos of the dancers that were in between turned absolutely bollocks.  Dear Santa, please bring me a new camera fro xmas. It does not have to be big and buff, just let the shutter speed be faster and the battery stronger.

It was an evening to remember.

I couldn’t fall asleep yesterday, so instead of wasting time staring at the ceiling I got up and did some doodling. Happy to report I see some progress in my work:D

Long time no post, oops.  Anyway, doesn’t mean I haven’t done any sketching at all, quite the contrary.  June started off with artslam over at lj and this year I’m gonna finish it! My theme for 2010 is tarot, and at the moment I’m mainly making a whole lot of thumbnail sketches for various cards. Bouncing from one card to the other,  here’s a few of them (scanned images larger than original).

I’ve been working on and off on coloring the doodle from day three of the mushroom week, and thought I’d let you all get a sneak peak on how it’s coming along. Far from finished yet.

The sunset today was absolutely lovely, so I did a quick watercolor study watching it.  One of my favorite things in the world is to sit down with a cup of tea and observe how the sky changes when the sun goes down. Better than telly, and completely free.

The king is mighty pleased by the news, oh yes he is.

Another sketch quickly colored in openCanvas. I actually did a small acrylic version of it first, but unfortunately I messed it up. Note to self, need to figure out how to make my own half tones for oC…

A quick doodle I slapped some color on in openCanvas.  She may not be on top of her beauty, but I assure you she’s lots of fun.

Today was originally supposed to be the start of snake week, that is, until one of my friends told me “No, you’re having a sock week,” Saturday.  So sock week it is. Starting with the washing line and progressing from there. what can I say about socks? Well they’re mighty useful, and may stink like death at times… also I highly encourage men to use over the knee socks more,  shove off them lovely legs guys.
